Event: Appetite for Engineering UK
Date: 29 April 2010
Type: Conference
Location: Hinckley Island, UK
Description: Appetite for Engineering, which will next year be presented as a one-day conference, will be held on 29 April at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. There will be many innovations and changes at Appetite for Engineering 2010, many as a result of recommendations from a “steering group” of key industry figures.
All these changes will encourage and help processors develop their appetite for better products, better processes and better profits through the adoption of automation and engineering.
The quality of speakers and the papers they will be presenting are of paramount importance and this will ensure Appetite for Engineering will attract the highest number of top-level delegates. Already some well-known names have been signed up to present, including from Marks & Spencer and Defra.
Other speakers will be former Northern Foods chairman, Lord Chris Haskins; Angela Coleshill, HR Director of the Food & Drink Federation (FDF); Charles Baughan, MD of Westaway Sausages; Kaarin Goodburn, CEO of the Chilled Food Association (CFA); and Ruth Griffiths, marketing controller of Vion Food Group.
The duration of the conference is being reduced from two days to one, with the all-important Food Processing Awards dinner taking place in the evening. This will be more attractive for delegates because it will minimise the cost and reduce the amount of time they’re away from their organisations.
At the end of the day we’re introducing an hour-long session where delegates can have one-to-one consultations with the event partners. These "speed" meetings will be “solutions led” and will enable delegates to set up an initial dialogue with automation solution providers that can be developed post-event.
